Deepwater Development

9-12 September
Mumbai, India

The world’s largest gas discovery for 2002 was made in deep waters of the Krishna-Godavari Basin of the Bay of Bengal on the east coast of India. Subsequently, many more deepwater oil and gas discoveries have been made in the Pleistocene, Pliocene, Miocene and Cretaceous age formations in this region. These early discoveries in the Bay of Bengal in water depths ranging from 500 to 3,000m show the makings of a major new oil and gas region for exploration, development, and production much like the Gulf of Mexico in the early 1960’s, North Sea in the early 1970’s and Campos Basin, offshore Brazil, in the early 1990’s.

The high cost of deepwater developments demands an early understanding of the asset size, reducing key uncertainties, and encouraging comprehensive well, reservoir, and production management planning as part of the initial development including investments in permanent downhole data acquisition and control systems. The deepwater projects mandate application of innovative and new cost effective technologies, and require new approaches to development, operations, and maintenance, construction, and installation.

This ATW is planning 6 sessions during 3 days with emphasis on deepwater case histories from around the world; appraisal and development planning; subsea well drilling, construction, and completions; subsea facilities selection, construction and installation; subsea production and operations management including flow assurance and the need to minimize future well interventions; and a panel discussion of the Vision for Deepwater 2020.

Who Should Attend

The intended audience of this Applied Technology Workshop (ATW) is multi-disciplinary professionals in the deepwater exploration and production sector. This includes facilities engineers, production engineers, drilling engineers, reservoir engineers, production managers, asset managers, geologists and geophysicist, and any professional facing challenges in deepwater environments.

Please Note: Registration deadline has been extended till 29 August.
