Why Attend

To obtain a general overview of deepwater operations and an appreciation for; well characteristics, challenges presented by deepwater well control, dynamic positioning and maximizing efficiency in deepwater operations.

Who Attends

Engineers and operational personnel involved with deepwater operations or those whom are new to or need to understand deepwater operations. The content will vary from basic at the start to a fairly high level with respect to efficiencies in deepwater operations and new technologies in deepwater.

.8 CEUs (Continuing Education Units) are awarded for this 1-day course.

Cancellation Policy

All cancellations must be received no later than 14 days prior to the course start date. Cancellations made after the 14-day window will not be refunded. Refunds will not be given due to no show situations.

Instructor

Barry Braniff is currently the Manager of Well Operations for Transocean’s Well Operations Group. His group is responsible for providing well construction and well control support to Transocean’s fleet. He began his career at Transocean in 1997 and has held various positions in the UK, Middle East and Gulf of Mexico, including Rig Engineer, Offshore Drilling Engineer, Drilling Supervisor, Senior Drilling Engineer, Well Engineering Manager and W ell Construction Manager. Barry holds a BEng in Civil Engineering from Queen’s University in Belfast Ireland and a Master’s degree in Subsea Engineering from Heriot-Watt University in Edinburgh Scotland.
