Course Description

Objectives:

• Learn the basics of drillstring mechanics theoretical background
• Acquire deep understanding about drillstring mechanics applications for complex drilling such as Torque & Drag & Buckling, Fatigue and casing wear
• Quick start of WellScan Torque & Drag modules
• Have a technical overview of all operational and technical aspects required to design and operate drillstring equipments in complex drilling programs
• Choose the right equipments for non-conventional extreme drilling
• Test equipment mechanical limits
• Capture experience & best practices

Description:

This course is divided into 5 sections as follows:

• 1st & 2nd sessions:
  • Drillstring Mechanics fundamentals
  • Routine Torque & Drag calculations required to design a drillstring and well trajectory
  • Initiation to WellScan Software Platform
• 3rd & 4th sessions:
  • Buckling
  • Fatigue
  • Casing wear
  • Torque & Drag applied to new technologies (materials, wired drill pipe, instrumented sub)
  • Practical demonstration with Torque & Drag WellScan's modules.
• 5th session:
  • Evaluation for the participants including MCQs and practical exercises

CEUs

2 CEUs (Continuing Education Units) are awarded for this 2.5-day course.

Cancellation Policy

All cancellations must be received no later than 14 days prior to the course start date. Cancellations made after the 14-day window will not be refunded. Refunds will not be given due to no show situations.
