Multiphase Pumping: Fundamentals to Field Applications

Disciplines: Projects, Facilities, and Construction

Course Description

Multiphase pumping encompasses many disciplines and different technologies. This course presents an overview of state of the art multiphase pumping technology. It covers the various aspects of multiphase pumping from concept to field applications. The emphasis is on the practical side. It also addresses many of the implementation issues for projects involving multiphase pumping.

Topics:

  • Introduction to multiphase pumping
  • Key process parameters for multiphase pumps
  • Classification of multiphase pumping technologies
  • Twin screw pumps
  • Helico-axial pumps
  • Sub sea multiphase pumps
  • Mechanical seals
  • Heavy oil applications
  • Project implementation issues
