Distinguished Lecturer

Each year, SPE selects a group of professionals, nominated by their peers, to share their knowledge and expertise with SPE members through visits to local sections.

About the Program

Created in 1961 with just three lecturers, the Distinguished Lecturer Program offers more than 450 presentations each year. The program is funded primarily by the SPE Foundation through member donations and a contribution from Offshore Europe. We appreciate the companies that allow their professionals to serve as lecturers and the additional support from AIME.

For the current Distinguished Lecturer season (September 2017–June 2018), SPE is providing up to two lecturers for each compliant section instead of three. The Board will review and reconsider the number of lecturers SPE is able to provide again next year.
