Qualifications for SPE Professional Membership:

Is or has been employed in work related to the petroleum industry AND at least one of the following: 

• University degree equivalent to a 4-yr Bachelors Degree in engineering, basic or applied sciences
• 2-yr science or engineering degree 
• 4-yr degree in a field other than science or engineering
• 6 years active practice in support of petroleum engineering or the application of science to the petroleum industry

Fees for SPE Professional Membership:

• USD 25 – 140 per year, based on country of residence. (A one-time entrance fee applies for new members)
• Membership term is January - December

Qualifications for SPE Student Membership:

Enrolled in University with 30% normal full-time academic load with a concentration in petroleum or related field AND at least one of the following: 

• Be pursuing the equivalent to a bachelors or graduate degree
• Attend a university with an SPE established student chapter*

*Note: SPE will contact your student chapter faculty sponsor to verify enrollment or request a copy of your current transcript or proof of enrollment.
